Else Digital started on February 2, 2015 — my brother Suyash and I, one laptop, and a single website called Balcony Garden Web. Just the belief that content built with care would find its readers.
That one site grew into a 90-person team running 13 websites and brands across gardening, lifestyle, food, and crafts — 3–4 million monthly readers. Along the way: 3.3M+ Pinterest followers with 176M monthly impressions, a 3.5M+ Facebook community, a YouTube Silver Play Button, and features in Forbes and The Guardian.
In 2020 I co-founded IndiaGardening — an e-commerce company selling plants and gardening supplies, shipped across India through our own store, Amazon, Flipkart, and Meesho. It grew straight out of my own love for growing things.
When the AI disruption hit in 2023, our traffic fell away like everyone else's. We chose to understand the shift instead of fighting it and rebuilt around Pinterest and Facebook. What once threatened the company is now one of its greatest strengths.
Eleven years in, the thing I'm proudest of isn't the numbers — it's the culture. I start with the people and the idea, protect the creative spark, and stay close to the work and the team.
Outside work I trade and invest, grow bonsai, and go deep on AI — the agents I experiment with at night now do real work inside the company.
